ITC Prerequisite Classes
Information Technologies Initial Skills (ITIS)
This class is for the student with little or no basic computer
knowledge. Students learn basic keyboarding skills, how to use a
mouse, and how to navigate a windows operating system. ITIS provides
the essential Computer Literacy (CL) skills students need to progress
on to the Information Technologies Basic Skills module. It is required
for the Network Installation program.
ITIS is a 40-hour program, lasting two weeks, Monday-Friday. Successful
completion requires attendance in classes and completion of lab assignments.
The program focuses on:
- Basic computer skills
- Keyboarding and mouse skills
- Competency in Windows XP
Tuition:

Information Technologies Basic Skills (ITBS)
This class helps students become computer literate. Students are
exposed to basic applications in the Microsoft Office Suite: Word,
Excel, PowerPoint & MS Project. Upon completion, students will
take the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification exam at
the ITC. Students will be exposed to IT career choices and training
options. It is a prerequisite for the PC Technology, Network Administration
and Desktop & Server Administration programs.
ITBS is a 100-hour program, lasting five weeks, Monday-Friday. Successful
completion requires attendance in classes and completion of lab assignments.
The program focuses on:
- Intro to computers and the World-Wide Web (www)
- E-mail
- Microsoft Office Suite: Work, Excel, PowerPoint
- Microsoft Project
- IT careers
