Placement Services Builds Strong Relationships with Employers

The Job Placement team is totally committed to helping Focus: HOPE graduates find employment in their area of expertise.  The Job Placement process is important to ensure that each graduate and the placement coordinator are working together to find suitable employment within 90 days of completing their training program. 

Job Placements Process:

  1. Placement Coordinator presents the placement process to each class, clearly communicating and outlining the job placement process.
  2. Pre-placement interview - Students nearing the completion of their program are scheduled for an interview with their placement coordinator. Resumes are reviewed; students have a mock interview with the placement coordinator and also share their employment goals and career objectives.
  3. Placement Coordinators use their best methods approach to find suitable, relevant employment opportunities for graduates.
  4. Focus: HOPE program graduates are entitled to lifetime placement; if for any reason you become unemployed (i.e. laid off, voluntarily terminated) you can contact us for job placement assistance.

 What’s Important:

Communication - It’s conveyed to each graduate that the placement process is a two-way process.  Students must be fully engage in finding employment and communicating to their coordinator on a regular basis their progress and any change in contact information or employment status.

Our staff will support and assist Focus: HOPE current students, former students, and alumni to secure employment that complements their newly-acquired skills and career objectives.  We provide the resources, techniques and guidance needed to make the job placement process a rewarding journey. 

Internship/Externship/Co-Op Opportunities

Focus: HOPE Center for Advanced Technologies and Information Technology students: Are you looking for an internship or co-op opportunity?  If you are currently enrolled at a partner university (Wayne State University, Lawrence Technological University, University of Detroit Mercy) and are eligible to assume an internship or co-op experience, contact your program manager or Job Placement to inquire about internships and co-op positions.
