14 graduate from Comcast Connectors

Fourteen students graduated June 29 from the Comcast Connectors program where they spent two afternoons a week at Focus: HOPE learning about computers and preparing for Microsoft A+ certification. The program also included sessions on financial literacy.

At the graduation ceremony, radio personality Coco encouraged the students to pursue their dreams. The graduates were presented with a laptop computer and camera from Comcast.

The graduates said the program has made them aim high. Aliyah Ward from Central High School now wants to be a lawyer and Sean Knuckles from Renaissance High School is planning to go to Michigan State University and become a video game developer.

Henry Hoskins from Drew High School said he now aims to work at Compuware after completing the classes. “I feel good because it taught me a lot about this program, with knowing how to work on the motherboard and digital connector,” said Hoskins.

The graduates include Octavia Brown from Pec Prep high school, Timothy Davis from Northwestern high school, Melody Glynn, Alysha Hinton from Detroit School of Performing Arts, Henry Hoskins from Drew High School, Dajon Jones from Northwestern High School, Sean Knuckles from Renaissance High School, Aliyah Ward from Central High School, Steven Watts from Central High School, Moesha Woods from from Northwestern High School, Quantinique McRee from Northwestern High School, Elliot Meadows from Detroit School of Performing Arts, Dalanis Milledge from Oak Park High School, and Diamond Richardson from Central High School.
