Plastic Omnium donates to EJ Fund

Plastic Omnium, an automotive Tier 1 supplier and world leader in exterior parts and fuel systems, has announced a new partnership with Focus: HOPE including a major gift to support Focus: HOPE’s charitable work in metro Detroit. The company’s Troy-based automotive division, Plastic Omnium Auto Exterior and Inergy Automotive Systems, presented Focus: HOPE with a gift of $ 300,000 for the Eleanor M. Josaitis Fund at the organization’s 38th annual WALK on October 14th.

Plastic Omnium’s financial contribution marks the beginning of a long term partnership with Focus: HOPE. The company plans to identify opportunities to hire employees and recruit interns from Focus: HOPE’s machining, engineering and information technology programs. Additionally, Plastic Omnium is committed to annual support of student scholarships for Focus: HOPE’s job training programs. The firm also will encourage its employees to seek out volunteer opportunities at Focus: HOPE.

“On behalf of our Chairman, Laurent Burelle, and our 21,000 associates worldwide we are proud to partner with Focus: HOPE to further the improvements in education and quality of life necessary for our communities and industries in Metro Detroit to thrive and grow,” said Plastic Omnium’s Inergy Automotive Americas President Mark Sullivan.

Plastic Omnium’s donation, along with proceeds from this year’s WALK, will benefit the Eleanor M. Josaitis Fund for Focus: HOPE. The Fund honors the legacy and work of the organization’s co-founder who passed away last year. Contributions support Focus: HOPE’s job training and education programs, student scholarships, and food centers.

“This generous gift and enduring pledge of support from Plastic Omnium’s automotive division is a huge win for our organization and the residents in the surrounding community,” said Focus: HOPE CEO William F. Jones, Jr. “Eleanor always stressed the importance of partnerships in making Focus: HOPE’s work possible and successful. Plastic Omnium’s willingness to share in our mission gets us one step closer to overcoming poverty and injustice through opportunity.”
