We’re celebrating 51 years of service and asking all of our friends of Focus: HOPE to donate $51 in support of furthering the mission of Focus: HOPE today!

We can hardly believe it’s been 51 years since we were founded in 1968 with a mission to overcome racism, poverty and injustice for a community of freedom, harmony, trust and affection.

Moving into our 51st year of existence, the work continues…so we are still working!

We are serving 41,000 senior food each month!

We are educating over 200 children each day!

We are training hundreds of young adults on robotics and other new technologies for future jobs!

Founded in 1968 as a response to Detroit’s 1967 civil unrest, the mission of Focus: HOPE remains unchanged, using practical and intelligent action to overcome racism, poverty and injustice and building a metropolitan community where all people can live in freedom, harmony, trust and affection. Today, Focus: HOPE recognizes 51 years of service and has doubled down on its commitment to end the lasting impacts of systemic racism. Visit our website to learn more about our comprehensive, multigenerational education and empowerment strategy, offering Early Learning and Youth Development as well as Workforce Development and Senior Food Justice programs. Also, get caught up on our advocacy and organizing efforts, educating and mobilizing the public to create change.
