We wouldn’t be Focus: HOPE without volunteers. We welcome volunteers in all of our projects and departments. Generous support from volunteers helps us expand our impact — and provides a meaningful experience for those donating their time to support their community.

Packing Food Boxes

“Pre-pack” or box up food items for our homebound seniors, or “cut stock” (Focus: HOPE lingo for opening boxes and putting food on pallets).

Assisting Senior Shoppers

Assist seniors as they pick up food, help them to their vehicles, or replenish the food on the distribution floor.

Homebound Food Delivery

Deliver food boxes to our homebound seniors living in metro Detroit.

Early Learning Center

Assist with the daily care and activities of children ages 6 weeks-5 years. Duties include assisting with meal time, reading to groups, playing in the gym, and assisting office staff.

Fundraising

Are you passionate about supporting the community but not sure how to help?

Focus: HOPE

Become an ambassador for Focus: HOPE by hosting your own virtual fundraiser. Get your friends, families, and coworkers involved in supporting our community – what a great way to make a difference during this time! Create a donation page here and invite whoever you’d like.

Ideas to get you started:

  • Celebrate a birthday, holiday, or other occasion you’d normally celebrate in person by hosting a fundraiser
  • Put together a virtual race or walk, where participants can raise support or walk · through their neighborhoods (or even on the treadmill) – all for our neighbors
  • Are you a musician? Host a live-streamed concert to raise support for your community
  • An e-sports or online game tournament fundraiser would be fun for all involved, and would make a big difference to our community
